Oil on board, featuring horizon at dawn. Signed and attributed to Dubina Nikolay Alekseevich (Ukrainian, 1939-1994) on lower left corner. 5.12 x 7.28 inch (13 x 18.5 cm). The Ukrainian painter was born in 1939 Krasnoarmeysk, Donetsk area. Dubina attended the Dnepropetrovsk art school (1966) and the Kiev art institute (1972). Studied with V.Gurin, A. Plamenitsky, V.Vyrodovoj. He is a listed artist and a member of the Union of artists of the USSR since 1984. Personal exhibitions include the following: 1989, 1995 (Donetsk). He is also the winner of the regional award of A.Kuindzhi (awarded posthumously, 1995). Works are stored in Donetsk an art museum, private collections of Ukraine and other countries. He is also listed within the literature, "A Dictionary of Twentieth Century Russian and Soviet Paintings 1900-1980." (Matthew Cullerne Bown, 355). PROVENANCE: Private collection (Kiev, Ukraine)
