紙本書、無、趙老錯用?? 銘大心
Daishi was the abbot at Daitokuji temple in and had a close link with the masters of Chanoyu (Way of Tea). The character ‘Mu” is a symbolic word of Zen teaching, which can be interpreted as ‘transcending all perceptions’, and it was first used by the Chinese priest Zhaozhou (趙州728 - 897). Calligraphy like this would have been displayed at the tokonoma alcove during a tea ceremony.
