Description: 19th century, Japan. Two sheer woven Obi with stripes and stylised waves in beige and off-white, partially with waves in green and purple, partially stencilled with patches of silver and gold. Sizes for both Obi: 415x32 cm. Condition: faded, stained, and spotted. One sheer woven Obi with stylised branches and leaves in beige and off-white, partially in deep purple, partially embroidered in silver (420x30.5 cm). Condition: faded, brittle. One Obi in green (French) silk, scattered with roses, carnations, and flowers in red, orange, purple, and green in between a ton-sur-ton pattern of smaller flowers and twigs in green (320x53.5 cm). Condition: strongly faded, incomplete, made out of several pieces of the same fabric, with beige silk lining. (4)
