Chinese Qing Dynasty hexagonal porcelain amphora vase. In a bulbous hexagonal shape leading to an elongated neck with a wide opening and splayed base. Two cylindrical shaped handles located at the sides of the neck. Exterior covered in distinctive Ge crackled glaze, also known as jinsitiexian which translates to mean gold floss and iron thread which details the look of the lines that appear in the crackled surface. The glaze terminates just before the end of the base revealing a dark charred clay. Underbase with Qianlong six characters reign mark in underglaze blue, Qing Dynasty.

PROVENANCE: James Barnes (1939-2016) of Memphis, TN; survived by two sisters who have decided to sell some of his treasured collections to fund charitable foundations that he was actively involved in. These collections were inherited from his Father-in-law (Kenneth Harlin) at his passing in 1967. Mr. Harlin had an early film career in the 1920-1930s as an international traveler he was able to bring back treasures from around the world.
