Pair of Qing Dynasty blue and white porcelain moon vases. Potted in a compressed round body, with short cylindrical neck leading toward the banded narrow rim, raised upon a concaved oval foot base. Two dragon shaped loop handles flanked on the neck down to the collar. The exterior delicately hand painted in blue underglazed fruiting peaches abundant and Buddha hand Citroen against clean white underglazed ground. Both elegantly displayed upon an elaborately carved hardwood stands. Underbase with Qianlong six characters reign mark in underglaze blue, Qing Dynasty.
PROVENANCE: James Barnes (1939-2016) of Memphis, TN; survived by two sisters who have decided to sell some of his treasured collections to fund charitable foundations that he was actively involved in. These collections were inherited from his Father-in-law (Kenneth Harlin) at his passing in 1967. Mr. Harlin had an early film career in the 1920-1930s as an international traveler he was able to bring back treasures from around the world.
