Deng Yu College 登瀛 is located in Caotun Town , Nantou County . The name was derived from the allusion of the "eighteen scholars Dengzhou". It was listed as a three-level monument by the Chinese Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of China in 1974 (1985). The college was established by the Qing court in the 28th year of Qing Daoguang (1848), initially for the purpose of educating the Pingpu people . Later, he changed to Yi Xue and placed Xuetian to supply his funds. The current appearance is the result of the re-repair of Guangxu 9 years (1883). The whole building is quaint and elegant with large trees around it.
