QING DYNASTY GILT BRONZE AND CLOISONNE ELEPHANTS WITH PORCEALIN VASE The Chinese gilt bronze forged to a modeled in the form of a caparisoned rested figure of an elephant, the head slightly facing left shoulder, carrying a porcelain vase atop the blanket. The head crown and many necklaces inlaid colorful attractive semi-precious stones, including Lapis-lazuli, turquoise, and red-coral. The howda delicately decorated with colorful enamel filled cloisonne works of Mystique Uptala, the night lotus and scrolling tendrils sets against the turquoise blue ground . Cloisonne is enameled metal on which the colors of the design are separated by thin metallic strings. The cells are filled with crushed enamel after which the object is heated until the enamels liquify into the cells. The whole piece is then sanded and polished into a uniform surface. While the porcelain vase adorned with hand painting of floral foliate in deep cobalt blue underglaze. All reserved in contrast gilt elephant body.
