Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty gilt bronze cloisonne tripod censers on wooden stand. Both having compressed globular body, deep vessel with rounded shoulder to flat opening rim. Two curved handle flanked to the rim. Three tiger masks surmounted three cabriole legs further to the claw foot supported the vessel. The exterior decorated with band of archaic taotie masks, vividly shown as two symmetrical bodies that are joined together, animal eyes projecting from the bronze surface in which stares at the viewer. These protruding eyes has also been defined as the eyes of a predator, surrounded within scrolling clouds cloisonne works patterns, all reserved in turquoise-blue ground.
Both censers gorgeously displayed upon a carved hardwood stand.
