Ancient Greece, Cyprus, ca. 900 to 750 BCE. An ample wheel-thrown Cypro-Geometric amphora with an attractive bulbous, globular body, twin strap handles and disc foot. The body is decorated with concentric bands of tan, black, and red slip pigment, the neck with a twisted rope pattern in black. Light encrustation. Chips to rim and base with nicks here and there as shown. Repairs to body. Still, a wonderful example!
