Roman Empire, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. An exquisitely attractive and dare we say near perfect large hand-blown blue-green glass unguent with lovely rainbow iridescence. As large and impressive unguent, this piece most likely came from the boudoir of a wealthy lady of the ancient Roman Empire, and was used to hold precious oils, perfumes, or cosmetics. This example boasts the classic silhouette of this form and is essential to any glass collection. Size: 6.5" H (16.5 cm)

Provenance: An old English private collection, ex-Ancient Art International, FL
