The outside is finely lacquered on a beautiful shimmering roiro-nuri ground with gold takamaki-e ferns and cherry blossoms. Nashiji flakes are spread out around the composition and there is some hirame flakes inside the gnarly trunk of the sakura tree. Two metal fittings, one on the cover, so that it can function as sagemono (hanging thing).
