A Japanese Sage-Jubako (picnic set), mid Edo period, of architectural form, the lid hinged at the centre with a metal lining to the underside above a central aperture for carrying pole above an open section in turn above a deep drawer, decorated with copper mounts with leafy scroll engraving against a stippled ground with traces of gilding, painted with gilt Kamon formed from three fan shaped flowers, 41 cm wide, 40 cm high, 28.7 cm deep.
