Description: Circa 1937, Ok-ch'on Korea. Purportedly cast by Pak Jun-myong with calligraphy signature. The name may refer to the actual workshop. Additional inscription dates the bell to "Shohwa twelfth year, eleventh month." This date corresponds to the year 1937 during the era of the Japanese annexation of Korea (1910-1945). The bell, with vertical sides, cast with floral rosettes and panels with raised borders, the hanger fitting of typical form with dragon heads and necks and is an interesting combination of Japanese and Korean stylist details. Bell has a diameter of 13". Very good overall with normal and expected corrosion. Condition: Item Dimensions: 23 -1/2" T.
