Description: First third 20th century, Japan. The inro of four compartments, decorated with wild horses in a mountainous landscape with gold highlights. The scrimshaw bone netsuke in the form of a foliate brush pot. Offered with a storage box with sliding lid and painted calligraphy. Inro is 3-3/4" long, netsuke is 2-1/4" long.
