Description: A extremely rare and extraordinary cloisonne enamel high-shouldered vase with silver mounts. This spectacular vase, using the artist's own invention, "nagare-gusuri", is a striking example of this difficult-to-achieve "rainbow-colored porcelanious glaze." On its brilliant surface, the artist has designed a glorious dance below the cascading multi-hued flambe, of moriage crabs- each defined by gold wires. Kawade Shibataro mark on base. Circa 1906. Measures 14 1/4" x 7 1/2" Good condition with mild surface wear. Accompanied with Flying Cranes Antiques 2008 receipt, total cost $85,000.00 USD. Provenance: "Private World Class Collection" Miami, Florida. Hill Auction Gallery in house USA continental shipping $150 plus insurance. (45)
