A Chinese wucai dragon and phoenix vase meiping The curved sides rising from a flared foot to a high, wide-domed shoulder set with a short and narrow cylindrical neck, decorated in wucai enamels, the body with a scaly green four-clawed dragon and a phoenix in flight with billowing tail feathers, both tumbling among cloud and flame scrolls chasing a flaming pearl, a band of triangle work at the base of the neck, the neck with a stylised flame pattern in blue, red and green enamel, and a single line in underglaze blue at the mouth rim, a double line in underglaze blue around the foot, the base glazed. Period: Shunzhi (1644 - 1661) or Kangxi (1662 - 1722). Height: 18 cm.
