Two cinnabar lacquer snuff bottles
19th/early 20th centuryThe first bottle meticulously carved to varying depths with a continuous palace scene with pavilions surrounded by lush trees and ornamental rocks, each main side portraying scholars accompanied by an attendant having tea or strolling through the garden, all between a ruyi collars below the straight neck of the bottle and above the oval foot ring enclosing an incised, apocryphal Qianlong mark; the second a compressed spherical bottle carved with two opposing vigorous, front-facing dragons amongst clouds, all against a ground with a densely incised key-fret pattern, the foot ring and lip of bronze, with an apocryphal Yongle mark to the recessed, black lacquered base.2 3/8in (6cm) height of each
