A CARL THIEME SACHSISCHE PORZELLANFABRIK GILT AND ENAMEL DECORATED PORCELAIN FIGURAL OIL TABLE LAMP, POTSCHAPPEL, GERMANY, CIRCA 1888-1901, the lamp with porcelain covered bowl form reservoir with transfer printed floral sprays within gilt framed panels to the top the bowl reserves to the front and back decorated with transfer printed scenes of a formal courting couple in a park like setting, framed with applied porcelain flowers and leaves with gilt highlights, with multipart columnar standard supported by draped figures of Cupid with his quiver of arrows and a female putto figure on a base of billowing clouds, with a pair of love birds at their feet, the clouds encircled by a band of applied floral decoration leading into a rocaille style plinth with gilt highlighted open "C" scroll feet and scattered applied flowers and leaves, fitted with a copper base oil burner (converted to electricity) and harp with applied floral blossoms to the top, marked on the bottom "T" (over crossed lines), and impressed "1981, D."
