A LARGE JAPANESE SATSUMA PARCEL GILT AND POLYCHROME PORCELAIN GINGER JAR AND COVER, LATE 20TH CENTURY, of traditional domed lid form with two views of maidens conversing within gated gardens of stylized blossoming foliage, enclosed by stylized geometric white leaves with turquoise and gilt accents amidst all over gilt scrollwork on red ground, the paneled shoulder depicting blossoming flora on a turquoise and black spotted ground alternating with panels of crosshatch, reversing to three gilt characters within a rectangular cartouche along with a parcel gilt "Made in Japan" label, accompanied by a round hardwood base.
