A CHINESE ARCHAISTIC STYLE CARVED CINNABAR LIDDED TRIPOD CENSER, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY, the compressed bulbous body with sides enclosing a band of stylized scrolling winged birds, beneath a shoulder of continuous back to back long plumed birds and a short conforming neck with similar avian details, flanked by shaped fretwork handles, raised on beastly mask carved monopodia centering an incised archaistic style four character mark square signature, surmounted by a domed lid with taotie mask and glyph banding enclosing a Buddhistic lion finial.
