A SET OF EIGHT GEORGE III (1760-1811) STYLE MAHOGANY DINING CHAIRS, AFTER THOMAS CHIPPENDALE (1718-1779), LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY, in the Gothic Revival taste, consisting of six side chairs and two armchairs, the serpentine arched crest rail centering a relief foliate flourish, over pierced, scrolled end arches, and ribbon carved back splats, within downwardly curved ears, on molded supports, joined to serpentine, bowed arms, on swan neck supports, flanking trapezoidal, striped rouge upholstered slip seats, over a wide flat skirt, raised on mossy foliate carved knee cabriole legs, with scrolled brackets, terminating in claw and ball feet, verso each chair numbered in roman numeral.
