A GREEK GNATHIAN WARE BLACK GLAZED BELL FORM KRATER, APULIA, CIRCA 4TH CENTURY BC, the tapering finely ribbed sides partitioned by a flat band of yellowish white painted long branches ending in stylized blossoms beneath a short conforming neck having another band with a classical bust of a youth centered by delicately painted scrolling tendrils reversing to undulating berried ivy vine flanked by short rectangular handles above the partition band of continuous curls continued in yellowish white tones, raised on a circular socle and conforming foot.
