China, Song Dynasty, 2nd half of 12th century, 1st half 13th century CE. Incredible glazed bowl from the Jizhou kilns with brown glaze and applied lighter russet glazes to give it a deliberate tortoise shell appearance. A very rare and desirable example! Size: 4.125" W x 2.25" H (10.5 cm x 5.7 cm).
