Nepal, ca. 18th century CE. This is a beautiful bronze bell with a simple and elegant design of some kind of flying creature -- probably a dragon -- with a horse-like head and a snake- or fish-like tail. The body of the animal forms a loop to use as a comfortable handle. The body of the bell has some incised linear design and the clapper is still present, so it is functional. Size: 6.1" W x 7.7" H (15.5 cm x 19.6 cm).
Provenance: Ex-Paul and Louise Bernheimer, Cambridge, MA and Laguna Woods, CA, acquired before 1980.

品相报告
The bell is separated from its handle, but the two pieces fit together and stay together on their own when upright. Slight patina.
