Universal Genève was founded in Le Locle, Switzerland in 1894 and was originally known as “Universal Watch”. Since its inception, Universal Genève has produced watches with unusually high quality for their price point. Universal was amongst the first brands to introduce a chronograph wristwatch. The present lot is an extremely rare example of the 1920s Big Pilot wrist chronograph. The 43 mm case is made of Swiss 900 silver, polished in three parts with hinged back, large onion-shaped winding crown with single coaxial push-piece and fixed lugs handles. The white enamel dial, with black Breguet numerals excluded the 12 o’clock in red color, have two tachometric scales. The present chronograph manufactured over 90 years ago, it is in really nice conditions and represents a very rare opportunity to own a vintage historic big chronograph.
