An early 20th century silver and gold diamond, tourmaline, opal and cultured pearl fly bar brooch. Designed as a fly, set throughout with rose-cut diamonds, a pear-shape opal cabochon eye, circular-shape green and red tourmaline body detail, to the cultured pearl terminals. Length 3.6cms. Total weight 4.2gms. Overall condition good. Surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear.Moderate to minor tarnish. With possible gem replacements. Some claws worn, handle with care. Diamonds bright.Cut and setting of rose-cut diamonds prevents total carat weight estimation.Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Opals in good condition, with orange to violet play-of-colour. Tourmalines in good condition, with typical inclusions. Cultured pearls measuring 4.1 to 4mms.
