注脚
Provenance:Christie's sale 27 November 2012, lot 71A number of designs are recorded with borders of fish on a powdered manganese ground, although it is unusual to find a further fish in the central panel. The traditional attribution to Wincanton for such plates is not confirmed by direct archaeological evidence, but Louis Lipski and Gabriel Olive (Pelham's father) found other powdered manganese shards at Wincanton and Gabriel collected a number of plates with related decoration in the area around Wincanton.
