A large Victorian silver salver
by Martin Hall & Co, London 1882 Of shaped circular form on four claw and ball feet, with cast shell and scroll border, engraved with a wide band of scrolling foliage centred by a presentation inscription for 1883, diameter 48cm, weight 84oz.

The inscription reads 'Presented along with a family bible To Major Charles Brodie Macalister and Mrs Macalister of Crubasdale on the occasion of the birth of a son and heir by the members and adherents of The Free Church Congregation of Killean, as a small token of gratitude for many favours received from Major Macalister as their superior and as an expression of their earnest wish that the auspicious event referred to may prove a source of much happiness and comfort to the family of Crubasdale and their tenancy, 10th July 1883.'
