ProvenanceFrom the estate of the late Sylvia GraucobPatricia McAllister was born in Africa in 1932 but came to make her home at Park Fold Farm, Mytholmroyd. In 1950 she went to Art College in Durban in Natal. She won a travelling scholarship at the age of 23 and came to London where she studied at Goldsmiths College for eighteen months. In the early 1960's she became a student at L'Academia di Belle Arte in Rome. In 1965 she was living in Wiltshire, met her future husband and moved to Mytholmroyd.Sylvia Graucob commissioned Patricia McAllister to produce a memorial to the fifty-six people who died at the Bradford City Football Club Stadium Fire in 1985. The relief sculpture is sited on the replacement stand.Although popular in the 1970's and 80's, McAllister's work is rarely seen on the market.
