Hippolyte Camille Delpy was a noted French landscape painter in the tradition of Barbinzon artists of the 19th century. He studied under two of the most famous painters of his time, Jean-Baptiste Corot and Charles-Francoise Daubigny with whom he was a close friend. Delpy learned in Anvers Camille Pissarro and Paul Cézanne know, they had great influence on Delpy's use of color. From 1869 until his death in 1910, H.C.Delpy regularly filled the Parisian salon and received praise, various prizes and medals. The appreciation of the people of his time was great, he exhibited at the Exposition International together with the Impressionists Monet, Renoir, Pissaro and Sisley.
