An archaistis Bronze Twin Handled Bronze Tripod Censer. Qing Dynasty, 18th Century. Compressed globular form supported on three Elephant form cabriole legs, rising to a slightly everted rim set to either side with a pair of curved handles cast as an elephant's trunk, the midsection decorated with a band of archaistic kui dragons against a keyfret background, incised mark on base. One similar recently sold in Sotheby's London "Important Chinese Art" sale on November 7, 2018 for a price realized of 7,500 GBP (Lot 80). Diameter of bowl: 9.75 in.
