Description: A LARGE JAPANESE BRONZE AND IVORY FIGURE OF A BEAUTY.? Late 19th/early 20th century. Standing wearing a yukata (summer kimono) loosely, adjusting her coiffure. Footnotes: Izumi Seijo II (1865 - 1937) was a member of the Tokyo Chokokai (The Tokyo carver's association), and the Tokyo Chukinkai (The Tokyo cast metalwork association), and began exhibiting at the international expositions in around 1895. One of the artist's exhibits won a prize at the Paris exposition of 1900. Kaneda Kenjiro (b.1847) co-founded the Kankokai Craft Company together with the prominent artists including Ishikawa Komei (1852 - 1913).
