A fine quality study from the well-known scene by Frederic Sackrider Remington (1861-1909) “A Dash For The Timber, 1889”, this watercolor depicts the right-most portion of the painting with 2 riders shooting back over their left shoulder as they are being pursued; very fine quality, signed “Remington” in the lower left corner. Paper shows a minor loss along the left edge, scene is clean and appears in very good condition, no rips, tears or staining. Original oil on canvas painting is in the Amon G. Carter Collection in the Amon Carter Museum of American Art. 8.5 in. high x 11 in. wide. Frame: 17.25 in. high x 14.25 in. wide. Weight: 2.75 lbs.
