Important Russian silver enameled box with hand painted miniature on ivory set under glass screen. The painting after Konstantin Makovsky's 1883 work "A Boyar Wedding Feast". Exterior of box has intricate floral multicolor decoration throughout. Two hinged handles which are also highly decorated and enameled. Adorned with cabochon emerald and ruby jewels throughout. Gold wash interior. Signed and has Double headed eagle mark.,84 silver purity mark. Weighs approximately 163 troy ounces (5050 grams).
