A Capriccio Illumination, excised from a manuscript, tempera with gold on parchment, unsigned, depicting an imaginary bustling port city at the base of mountains, possibly Naples. Includes note of the period that mentions the date of 1655, may refer to the painting (?). Housed in a water gilt molded frame, floated within a French-lined mat, glazed, OS: 10 3/4" x 12 1/2", SS: 3 1/8" x 5". Fine condition, not examined out of frame.
