A dark wooden statue of a deity standing, possibly Shakyamuni Buddha with his alms bowl (bhikshu), standing on a stepped cruciform base; collar and pectoral necklace decorated with geometric patterns, swags of beads and a pendant; twisted anklets and a carefully modelled loincloth; the bowl formed as an iron ladle with handle bent over 3.5 kg, 60cm (23 1/2").
