The original Zenith Defy Gauss came onto the market in 1967, a couple of years after Zenith's 100th birthday. It was their anti- magnetic version of an extreme sports watch (gauss being a unit of magnetic induction), following in the spirit of Blancpain's 'Fifty Fathoms' and Rolex's 'Submariner'.
