A GORYEO DYNASTY (918-1392) STYLE SLIP PAINTED CELADON GLAZE LOTUS FORM TEA CUP ON STAND, KOREAN, the lobed petal form cup with central interior incised chysanthemum blossom issuing incised tendrils on every petal, the exterior painted with slip underglaze of chrysanthemum blooms with tendrils, raised on a socle leaf carved stand, within a floriform, like slip painted dish, terminating in a petal form, tapered foot. Height: 4 1/2" Diameter: 5 3/4" Crazing throughout glaze, some cloudiness throughout, occasionally obscuring the slip painted and incised decoration, glazes range in color from pale blue green with a medium high gloss on the cup and the base has greener color and a contrastingly matte glaze, possible that the pieces are married and were not original the other, some glaze cracking, but overall in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.Simpson Galleries strongly encourages in-person inspection of items by the bidder.
