H:34.5CM L:26.7CM W:16CM As identified by the multi-tusked elephant upon which the elaborately-attired bodhisattva sits with legs pendent on the back of a recumbent elephant, the full face surmounted with a high topknot and surrounded by an intricate crown, with a lotus blossom to either shoulder, the left supporting a sutra scroll and the right supporting an utpala or stylized blue lotus here rendered as ruyi-cloud head, his hands held in the vitarka and abhaya mudras of discourse and reassurance, all supported by a large lotus-form sealed base.
