CHINESE CELADON AND RUSSET JADE BUDDHIST PLAQUE, the deity seated in dhyanasana atop a double lotus throne wearing long flowing robes left open at the chest revealing beaded jewels, the principle hands held before the chest in anjalimudra, the flanking hands raised holding a lotus sprig in one hand and a string of pearls in the other, the serene downcast face between beaded disk earrings surmounted by an elaborate crown adorned with further jewels and foliate garland, backed by a halo and aureole outlined with a lappet border and a stylized mandorla, the reverse with an incised inscription heightened with gilt, the stone with large areas of chestnut and russet skin.
