skilfully modelled, the elegant figure depicted standing on an open lotus flower, buffeted with beaded waves,wearing a layered robe draped over softly rounded shoulders and opening at the chest to reveal a beaded necklace , the head with a rather rounded face and long hair worked into a high top knot covered by a scarf and adorned with a tiara shaped as a portrait of the Buddha Amitabha, in her right arm she is cradling a little boy (the truth-seeking boy Sudhana/Chinese ' shancai'), naked except for a small bib, her left hand is holding a long-stemmed lotus flower, the eyes are downcast with lips gently indented to provide a benevolent expression, one lotus leaf (flower in her left hand) slightly chipped, the figure's back is impressed with the Dehua double gourd mark and the square artist's seal mark ''He Chaozong'', H. approx. 70.5 cm, weight c.7.1kg
