Nine glass snuff bottles
19th and 20th centuryComprising: an oviform bottle on polished oval base simulating realgar in red and orange, 5.3cm high; a pebble form bottle on concave foot, the mottled effect formed from mixed canes of dark colours, 5cm high; a green overlay bubble suffused glass bottle, 5.8cm high; another black overlay clear glass depicting animals and foliage, 6cm high; and five various inside painted bottles, all 20th century, largest 8.2cm high.And each with stopper. Provenance: from a collection amassed in Hong Kong during the late 1960s and early 1970s by an English civil engineer working on the first cross-harbour tunnel and later in the 1970s on the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) and now by descent to the current owner.
