Bronze with gildingTibet, 18th to 19th centuryBhaisajyaguru is the Buddha of healing and medicine in Mahayana Buddhism and often referred to as the Medicine Buddha. This work shows him seated in padmasana on a lotus throne and holding a twig from a myrobalan tree in his right hand.
