Wood, gold lacquer, inset mirror glass, applicationsBurma, c. 1900This large dry lacquer figure shows the Buddha with a subtle smile, long earlobes attached to the shoulders, eyes almost closed, standing in samabhanga pose on a base shaped like a lotus flower, holding a myrobalan fruit between the thumb and middle finger of his right hand and holding up the uttarasanga with his left hand.
