Iron with gold and copperJapan, Edo periodThe group consisting of three rounded maru-gata tsuba and two kaku-gata tsuba. The first maru-gata tsuba quite small, with two hitsu and with a depiction of a water wheel inlaid in gold and copper. The second maru-gata tsuba with two hitsu, carved in relief with a sennin beneath a pine tree – details in gold takozogan. The third tsuba with one hitsu, many finely incised lines and a spindle-shaped openwork pattern.The first kaku-gata tsuba flying cranes inlaid in silvered copper with takozogan rain drops.
