A GLAZED CERAMIC SAKE BOTTLE
Glazed ceramicJapan, 19th to 20th centuryThe surprising thing about this interesting vessel, with an ovoid shaped body and a concise base, is the mouth. It takes the form of an amphora from China’s Tang-period. The glaze, which does not cover around a third of the vase’s lower body, is executed in yellow over white, with large, sparsely distributed spots that seem similar to clouds, also present on the mouth. The spots appear as “dabs” and show flowing patterns on the edges. Dimensions: HEIGHT 16.5 CMCondition: Excellent conditionProvenance: German private collection
