AN ENAMELED SILVER AND JADE HAND MIRROR, LATE QING DYNASTY
Silver, enamel and pale celadon jade

A Ruyi scepter shaped mirror in a silver frame, enameled with butterflies and floral motifs. The reverse of the mirror is a pierced jade plaque of pale celadon hue with a flower. The handle is also inlaid with jade on the reverse. The mirror has a filigree silver ruyi border, and the sides of the handle have incised lotus designs. At the lower end of the handle the mark “Silver” is stamped.

Condition: very good condition with minor nicks and very little material loss to filigree silver mounting
