Glass and gilt enamel cloisonné

The group consisting of three inside-painted glass snuff bottles – with depictions of cats and butterflies, two sparrows perched on a flowering branch with a Chinese boy on the reverse and a very finely painted depiction of a horse with a small goat on the other side. With a gilt enamel cloisonné snuff bottle with a millefleur décor on a bright yellow ground.
Dimensions: HEIGHT (with stopper) 6.5 – 8.8 CM
Condition: All in very good condition, the stopper on the cat bottle is loose
Provenance: French private collection, formerly collection of John Ault – known for the publication on snuff bottles from Robert Kleiner: ‘Chinese Snuff Bottles from the Collection of John Ault’ (1990)
