A BANDED SHADOW AGATE ‘GOLDEN PHEASANT’ SNUFF BOTTLE

China, 19th/20th century
Of rectangular shape with rounded shoulders. The banded agate with natural shadow inclusions depicting a golden pheasant, a symbol of rank, staring up at the sun, a natural inclusion of honey-butterscotch color. Well hollowed-out and smoothly polished. Glass stopper and metal spoon.
