TABLE WITH RICH CARVED DECOR

Oval round surface with a wide rim decorated all around with floral motifs and vines, two animals on opposite sides, possibly lions. The rim is further embellished with notched and jagged seams, complemented by another seam consisting of rowed leaves. A central oval surface framed in a jagged border, holding a depiction of Gajalakshmi, the goddess Lakshmi, flanked by elephants. She is sitting on a lotus and holding flowers in front of her with both hands, encompassed by floral friezes. The base frame holds with lobed face plates, again carved with floral décor. A second jagged-edged shelf at the bottom of the four foot pillars. The four foot pillars continue into zoomorphic legs, each forming a bird’s head at the top and a lion’s head at the bottom. Remnants of red colour in the grooves and traces of wear.
